So, back in 2013, my wife and I decided that the city we both grew up in, bought our first house in, and shared with many of our friends, was not the place we wanted to raise our children. We had family sprinkled around Middlesex County and the region was still within reasonable travel distance to our jobs. However, this move was more complicated than some. See, we still owned our home in Jersey City, and given the state of the housing market, we could not sell it. We also couldn't buy another home for the same reason. All we knew was that we wanted to move, and that we needed someone to help us.
We came across Mike after meeting with various realtors. So many of the folks we met were gimmicky and did not generate that certain level of trust and confidence we were looking for. We presented Mike our situation and he gave us a realistic prognisis, which was hard to swallow but he instilled in us the faith we needed to take such a huge risk. For months we scoured Middlesex County for the right property over the course of the winter. Simultaneously, Mike was working the market in Jersey City to retrieve rental tenants for us. So many variables needed to line up in order for us to be successful.
But Mike worked his tail off...Not only did he find us reliable tenants for our home in Jersey City, but he kept his ear to the ground and found us a rental property, in Sayreville, with all our "asks"! The house had only been on the market a day, but Mike got us there first and the rest is history!
Well, not quite...that's actually just the beginning. See, after 3 years, and 2 kids later, the rental property was becoming small. We needed to upgrade. So we called our go to guy. Surprise! Mike was up for the challenge once again, but this time, we were ready to buy house number two. We gave him a list of our wants, we gave him a time frame and guess what, he delivered AGAIN! We found our dream home and my family couldn't be happier.
Our property in Jersey City is going to be in need of new tenants in the coming months, but we are not worried. Mike hasn't failed us yet.
This was indeed a journey. Mike knew how inexperience we were when we started and instead of letting us opt for house which we thought me may like, he gave us the space and opportunity to discover and learn on our own and to have our own opinions. Through it all he picks up on how we change and guided us accordingly.
